Aria is a one-of-a-kind event venue in the North Loop area of Downtown Minneapolis. The stunning Gothic architecture acts as an intriguing backdrop to an event that will surely be remembered. The interiors combine old-world elegance and new-world sophistication with 30-foot ceilings, patinaed brick walls, crystal chandeliers, contemporary art and decadent furniture. Aria has become one of Minnesota’s most elegant and eclectic event venues, hosting galas, corporate events, weddings, conferences and other social gatherings in addition to producing original programming such as David Byrne’s “Playing the Building” and Christie’s “Andy Warhol in Minneapolis.” The fourth floor of Aria is home to First & First offices with its location as its namesake. Aria is considered to be one of the contributing structures to the Minneapolis Warehouse Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was built in 1889 by Edward Stebbins and was originally known as the Realty Warehouse Company building. Edward Stebbins built it in 1889 then noted architect Cass Gilbert, who designed the Minnesota state capitol, remodeled it in 1902. From 1992 to 2008, the building was home to the Theatre de la Jeune Lune, the celebrated company known for its rich and innovative style of theater. After the theater closed in 2008, the four-story building remained vacant until 2010 when it was acquired by First & First.
